How Do French Government Bonds Work — the mechanics
Coupons are typically annual on many OATs (unlike gilts’ semi-annual), which slightly changes accrued-interest maths. Inflation-linked OATs exist alongside nominals.
Fixed euro coupon, par at maturity (linkers aside), AFT calendar. OATi/OATei scale with inflation indices named in the terms.
BTFs are the bill end. Do not buy a 30-year OAT because you liked a BTF yield tweet.
Settlement through euro clearing is ordinary government-bond plumbing. Retail usually faces a bank or a fund.
