How we source yields
This page is the record of what the live board is — and is not. We would rather lose a click than publish an undated “best yield” number.
What is live
- US 3-month, 5-year, 10-year, 30-year: CBOE futures-based yields via Yahoo Finance (^IRX, ^FVX, ^TNX, ^TYX), labelled with the print date.
- UK 10-year gilt: Bank of England series IUDMNZC (nominal par yield), daily when the Bank publishes.
- Germany, Italy, France 10-year: ECB “long-term interest rate for convergence purposes” (Maastricht), monthly, with the month on the card.
- Euro area AAA 10-year: ECB yield-curve 10-year spot, daily.
What is estimated
Individual gilt, Treasury, bund, BTP, OAT and Swiss ISIN prices on the table are not live dealer quotes. Where we have a live 10-year for that market, we shift the educational snapshot by a parallel yield move and adjust price with duration. Inflation-linked lines get a smaller shift. Swiss Confederation 10-year has no free official JSON feed in this build, so those rows stay on the dated snapshot.
What we never do
- Publish a yield without a date and a named source.
- Call a number “the best bond” or a personal recommendation.
- Gate the explainers behind an email wall.
Confirm every trading figure with the UK DMO, TreasuryDirect, Finanzagentur, MEF, AFT or the Swiss Confederation. About this publisher.
